General Information

Crafted from the finest wines of pinot noir, pinot meunier, and chardonnay from grands and premiers crus such as Verzenay, Bouzy, or the Côte des Blancs, 40% of which are reserve wines, Lanson Le Black Réserve perpetuates the world-famous style of its house, combining complexity, freshness, and sophistication.

Lanson Le Black Réserve is part of the exclusive sparkling wine collection of Champagne Lanson, crafted from particularly old wines resulting from exceptional vintages. The traditional winemaking process carried out by Hervé Dantan, cellar master, preserved the purity and freshness of the fruit, and after the final blending, the long 5-year aging on lees, a hallmark of the maison, brought forth a champagne with great aromatic richness and a unique personality. Truly one of a kind.

Tasting notes

Visually, it presents a beautiful straw yellow color with very fine bubbles.

On the nose, initial aromas of yellow fruit and nuts are found, followed by notes of honey, biscuit, and soft spices. Powerful and complex.

On the palate, its meatiness and broad, rich body with a strong fruity presence are surprising. A chiseled and fresh finish, a hallmark of the house.

The winery

Winery

Lanson is today an international brand present on five continents, combining boldness and tradition. The prestigious Champagne brand Lanson was established in 1760 and features the Maltese Cross on its labels as a tribute to its founder, a knight of this order. Today, more than two and a half centuries later, Lanson is the second-largest champagne producer in France, with 19.8 million bottles, and remains an official supplier to the British Royal Household. The Lanson style, internationally recognized, originates from the exclusion of malolactic fermentation during the production process. This peculiarity allows the reserve wines to express their full aromatic richness.
