General Information

Javier Moro, third generation of winemakers, presides over Bodegas Emilio Moro, one of the classic firms of Ribera del Duero with international prestige. Finca Resalso 2023 is their entry-level wine and one of the most sought-after brands of Ribera del Duero. It is crafted with the youngest vines of the Finca Resalso, planted in Pesquera de Duero in 1932, the year Emilio Moro was born, on a clay-limestone and stony soil.

In the 2023 vintage, temperatures were higher than usual, although just before harvest generous storms occurred that harmonized the cycle and balanced the concentration. It macerated with its skins for 12 days. Subsequently, this red underwent malolactic fermentation for 30 days in stainless steel tanks.

Among the wineries that have most contributed to making the excellences of Ribera del Duero known beyond our borders is Emilio Moro. A firm behind which are several generations of a lineage of winemakers. Located in Pesquera de Duero (Valladolid), it owns 200 hectares of its own vineyard, planted and grafted with a clone of tempranillo recovered from its oldest vines. Their wines are characterized by their fidelity to the "terroir" and by prioritizing the fruity character over the barrel.

Finca Resalso 2023 (D.O. Ribera del Duero) pairs well with Iberian cured meats, Spanish omelette, and potatoes with ribs.

Bodegas Emilio Moro is among the wineries that have most contributed to showcasing the excellence of Ribera del Duero wines beyond our borders. It is the story of a family of winemakers with a tradition spanning several generations, who have managed to position their wines among the most highly regarded worldwide; in fact, it was recently nominated for the Best European Winery award by the influential American magazine ‘Wine Enthusiast,’ which recognized it as the best in Spain. Located in Pesquera de Duero, in a privileged enclave of the Ribera del Duero, it is currently led by Javier Moro (president), heir to the love for wine of his grandfather and father, both named Emilio.

This Valladolid-based winery has always been committed to producing wines deeply connected to their terroir, convinced that it is the soil that gives them personality. It owns nearly 400 hectares of its own vineyards, planted and grafted with a clone of tempranillo recovered from its oldest vines, which undoubtedly provides fruits of extraordinary quality, with great color, character, and nuances. Among the most emblematic plots of the winery are Resalso (planted in 1933, the year Emilio Moro, father of the current owners, was born); Valderramiro, with the oldest vines of the winery and the cradle of the great wine Malleolus de Valderramiro; Sanchomartín and Camino Viejo, from which the red wine Malleolus is born.

In 2016, Bodegas Emilio Moro embarked on a new project, for the first time, outside Ribera del Duero, under the Bierzo designation of origin, where they have three labels. Since 2023, they have owned a winery in the area. Currently, they have over 60 hectares dedicated to the godello grape.
