Finca La María 2020 comes from one of the best vintages in the 21st century in Ribera del Duero, the 2020, rated Excellent. This single varietal Tempranillo is sourced from a single plot: Finca La María, located in La Horra (Burgos), for many, the best area of the appellation. Aged for 12 months in French oak barrels and then resting in the bottle for a further 6 months, it retains the freshness and expression of its youth.
Founded in 1985 by the Hernández de Mercado family from Segovia, Marqués de Velilla (Grandes Bodegas, S.L.) has one of the most spectacular estates in the heart of Ribera del Duero: Monte Villalobón. It has 150 hectares of its own vineyards, with some vines that are already living history in the region. On a hill, overlooking the vineyard, is the winery, perfectly integrated into the landscape, whose very raison d'être is viticulture and vineyards.
