Finca La Emperatriz Blanco 2019 is the flagship wine of the estate and the purest and most faithful expression of its terroir, whose peculiar characteristics compared to neighboring plots have earned it the distinction of Viñedo Singular by the Regulatory Council of the D.O.Ca. Rioja. Made 100% from viura grapes matured in vineyards with an average age of 60 years, this white wine, in which the oak is perfectly integrated, offers great freshness and a long, persistent finish, nodding to the traditional barrel-aged whites of the denomination.

General Information

Finca La Emperatriz Blanco 2019 is the result of grapes sourced from vines between 50 and 65 years old, planted in the Viñedos Singulares of Finca La Emperatriz, owned by Viñedos Hermanos Hernáiz. Carefully selected by hand, the best clusters were used to craft this expressive and elegant white rioja, which, after maceration and fermentation, remained on its fine lees for four months with very spaced battonages. Subsequently, the resulting wine underwent aging for 9 months in concrete tanks and an additional 8 months in French oak barrels of first, second, and third use.

The Rioja-based winery Viñedos Hermanos Hernáiz manages an impressive vineyard of over 100 hectares, completely divided into parcels, where they exercise meticulous control over the entire production process. This is largely the key to their success: a strong commitment to personalized viticulture, of which Finca La Emperatriz Blanco 2019 is a magnificent example.
