General Information

Elegance, complexity, and good longevity are the three qualities that adorn Enrique Mendoza Chardonnay Fermented in Barrel 2024, the latest vintage of the top white wine from Bodegas Enrique Mendoza.

The family winery, based in Alfaz del Pi, was a pioneer in the D.O. Vinos de Alicante in introducing foreign grape varieties, such as the noble French chardonnay that takes center stage in this wine. The Cabezo de la Virgen de Villena estate, one of the most unique in the region, is home to its vineyard of origin, cultivated with absolute precision viticulture, without the use of herbicides or insecticides. This is why the grapes selected for the production of Enrique Mendoza Chardonnay Fermented in Barrel are of high quality and purity, preserved in the winery through careful vinification. As the name suggests, the obtained must was fermented in new barrels of French oak from Allier, then aged for 6 months on its lees and yeasts, a process that imparts its characteristic smoky touch on the nose.

Discover Bodegas Enrique Mendoza through Enrique Mendoza Chardonnay Fermented in Barrel 2024, their best white wine, the ideal choice to pair with your favorite appetizers, baked, grilled, or sauced white and blue fish, and all kinds of rice dishes.

Creators' opinion

The winery

Bodegas Enrique Mendoza
Bodegas Enrique Mendoza is a family-owned winery founded in 1989 and based in the town of Alfaz del Pi, in Alicante. The seed of the winery was "planted" in the late 1970s by Enrique Mendoza, a viticulturist passionate about enology, who decided to continue the tradition of the Marina Baixa region of producing wine for family consumption.

Today, the project has become well-established, and Bodegas Enrique Mendoza boasts 84.5 hectares of vineyards. The winery prides itself on being a pioneer in the region for introducing renowned international varieties such as the white chardonnay and the red cabernet sauvignon, merlot, pinot, petit verdot, and syrah, while also championing local varieties like monastrell, the queen grape of the D.O. Vinos Alicante, and moscatel.

The winery's philosophy is rooted in respect for the vineyard and the environment, practicing a herbicide- and insecticide-free viticulture with precise care, resulting in wines full of nuances.
