General Information

Emilio Moro 2021 (Excellent vintage) is made with tempranillo grapes from medium-aged vineyards with clay-limestone stony soils, located in Pesquera de Duero, with a southwest orientation. The fruits fermented in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperature, followed by malolactic fermentation for 30 days also in stainless steel tanks. Finally, it was aged in French and American oak barrels.

The new image of Emilio Moro follows the line of other wines from the winery such as Malleolus, Finca Resalso, or La Felisa, with a more elegant typography, the integration of the medallion, and Emilio's signature, as the first wines of the winery once had.

Emilio Moro is one of the brands that has most contributed to showcasing the excellence of Ribera del Duero wines beyond our borders. It combines respect for the winemaking tradition inherited from the previous two generations with innovation and produces 'terroir' wines that have set trends.

1987 is the year when Emilio Moro decided to market his wines made with the vineyards that his father had planted in the privileged area of Pesquera de Duero (Valladolid). Today, with the third generation at the helm, Bodegas Emilio Moro is the story of a lineage of winemakers who have achieved great international renown. The winery owns 200 hectares of vineyards.

Bodegas Emilio Moro is among the wineries that have most contributed to showcasing the excellence of Ribera del Duero wines beyond our borders. It is the story of a family of winemakers with a tradition spanning several generations, who have managed to position their wines among the most highly regarded worldwide; in fact, it was recently nominated for the Best European Winery award by the influential American magazine ‘Wine Enthusiast,’ which recognized it as the best in Spain. Located in Pesquera de Duero, in a privileged enclave of the Ribera del Duero, it is currently led by Javier Moro (president), heir to the love for wine of his grandfather and father, both named Emilio.

This Valladolid-based winery has always been committed to producing wines deeply connected to their terroir, convinced that it is the soil that gives them personality. It owns nearly 400 hectares of its own vineyards, planted and grafted with a clone of tempranillo recovered from its oldest vines, which undoubtedly provides fruits of extraordinary quality, with great color, character, and nuances. Among the most emblematic plots of the winery are Resalso (planted in 1933, the year Emilio Moro, father of the current owners, was born); Valderramiro, with the oldest vines of the winery and the cradle of the great wine Malleolus de Valderramiro; Sanchomartín and Camino Viejo, from which the red wine Malleolus is born.

In 2016, Bodegas Emilio Moro embarked on a new project, for the first time, outside Ribera del Duero, under the Bierzo designation of origin, where they have three labels. Since 2023, they have owned a winery in the area. Currently, they have over 60 hectares dedicated to the godello grape.
