General Information

Dominio de la Abadesa Verdejo 2024, 100% verdejo, originates from a vintage that offered great quality in the D.O. Rueda. It is made from a careful selection of old vineyards located on stony, gravelly soils. This allowed for good maceration of the grape skins, as well as optimal fermentation and aging on lees in French oak barrels, using the ‘batonnage’ (or stirring of the lees) technique before clarification and subsequent stabilization.

Ontañón is a historic brand of Spanish wine. Forged in the 1980s by the Pérez Cuevas family, it represents the passion of small artisan winemakers. Now led by the fifth generation of the family, it is a rejuvenated and excellent brand, with a wide presence in the national market. This family is also behind Bodegas Queirón in Rioja Oriental, a winery focused on carefully crafted small productions. Additionally, they have expanded their activity to other denominations such as Ribera del Duero, where they manage the ambitious project Rippa Dorii, previously known as Altos de Ontañón.

Rippa Dorii –which means Ribera del Duero in Latin– is based in Fuentecén (Burgos). It works with more than 300 hectares of vineyards, some of which are in the province of Soria, and its wines are characterized by a balance between fruit and wood. The winery has also extended its activity to the neighboring D.O. Rueda, where it produces enticing verdejo white wines.

The white wine Dominio de la Abadesa Verdejo 2024 (D.O. Rueda) is ideal for pairing with dishes such as salmon tartare or sea bass ceviche.
