Tábula was established in 2002,when Ribera del Duero was enjoying a boom, and soon gained recognition as one of its driving forces. Its wines are praised by the most influential wine critics such as Parker. Because the winery started out with an exceptional asset: its own vineyards located in the ‘golden mile’ of Ribera del Duero in Olivares de Duero (province of Valladolid). That’s where this modern-style Reserva comes from, a vintage that was rated Excellent. Damana Reserva 2021 is notable for its great balance between fruit and wood. It’s pleasant to drink, full and has good length. You’ll find all the makings of a great Ribera in this bottle.

General Information

All the wines made in Ribera del Duero’s ‘golden mile’ are truly unique, such as Damana Reserva 2021 (an Excellent vintage). This is a wine that brings out all the qualities of the Tempranillo variety – or Tinta Fina, as it’s known in Ribera del Duero. It comes from one of the best parts of the D.O., Olivares de Duero.

It was grown solely on Tempranillo vines aged between 20 and 30 years, cultivated in clay and sandy-loam soils and harvested by hand, with yields of no more than 4,500 kg/ha. Alcoholic fermentation was carried out at a controlled temperature for twelve days, followed by malolactic fermentation in vats. The resulting wine was finally aged for 12 months in barrels in French (90%) and American (10%) barrels.

Bodegas y Viñedos Tábula was established in 2002 as a result of the drive of José Luis Muñoz Olmos, backed by a group of entrepreneurs from the Castilla y León region. Two decades proved long enough to earn it recognition both in and outside Spain owing, among other reasons, to its masterful interpretation of the Tempranillo variety. Located in Olivares de Duero (Valladolid), the winery now owns 70 hectares of vineyards – notable among which is the Finca La Morejona estate, which spans only four hectares – planted between 1959 (the first) and 1999 (the other three).

Damana Reserva 2021 (D.O. Ribera del Duero) is ideal with roast pork or meat stews.
