Tábula Bodegas y Viñedos started out in 2002, when Ribera del Duero was enjoying a boom, and soon gained recognition as one of its driving forces. This modern firm, whose wines are awarded high Parker scores, boasts an excellent vineyard in the ‘golden mile’ of Ribera del Duero. The grapes that went into making Damana Reserva 2020 were grown here, in Olivares de Duero. This Ribera del Duero from an Excellent vintage is modern and elegant with a superb balance of fruit and wood.

All the wines made in Ribera del Duero’s ‘golden mile’ are truly unique, such as Damana Reserva 2020 (an Excellent year). This wine expresses all the properties of the Tempranillo variety – or Tinta Fina, as it’s known in Ribera del Duero. It comes from one of the best areas of the D.O., Olivares de Duero.
The grapes that went into making it were all grown on Tempranillo vines aged between 20 and 30 years. These vines, cultivated in clay and sandy-loam soils and harvested by hand, produce yields of no more than 4,500 kg/ha. Alcoholic fermentation was carried out at a controlled temperature for twelve days, followed by malolactic fermentation in vats. The resulting wine was finally aged for 12 months in French (90%) and American (10%) oak barrels.
Bodegas y Viñedos Tábula was established in 2002 as a result of the drive of José Luis Muñoz Olmos, backed by a group of entrepreneurs from the Castilla y León region. Their two-decade track record has succeeded in earning them recognition both in and outside Spain owing, among other reasons, to their superb interpretation of the Tempranillo variety. Located in Olivares de Duero (Valladolid), the winery now owns 70 hectares of vineyards – notable among which is the Finca La Morejona estate, which spans only four hectares – planted between 1959 (the first) and 1999 (the other three).
Damana Reserva 2020 (D.O. Ribera del Duero) is ideal with roast pork or meat stews.
Deep cherry-red with purplish and reddish hues. Intense pigmentation and slow, wide legs.
Combination of intense fruity aromas in the nose (raspberry, plum), as well as fennel, liquorice and vanilla together with toasty notes.
Nicely balanced flavours with ripe fruit, spice and supple tannins. Full and lingering on the palate
