Celeste Verdejo 2025 is a fantastic and modern white wine produced by the Torres family in the vineyards of their Pago del Cielo winery, near the Duero River as it passes through Villafranca del Duero. The name Celeste evokes the magnificent starry skies of the harvest nights in Ribera del Duero and Rueda, and this is reflected in the labeling of this wine. This is a single-varietal wine that stands out for its balanced acidity, freshness, and pleasant aromatic intensity.

Celeste Verdejo 2025 is a young white wine created by Bodegas Torres. It is made entirely from Verdejo grapes sourced from vineyards located near the Duero River, with a northern orientation, cultivated on gravelly clay soils and rounded pebbles. An ideal location that enhances the expressiveness of the Verdejo, revealing its most intense aromas.

Celeste Verdejo is the new project of Pago del Cielo, part of the Familia Torres in Ribera del Duero and, more recently, in Rueda. Bodegas Torres is a family winery founded in Vilafranca del Penedès more than 150 years ago. It is one of the oldest and most internationally renowned family entities in the wine sector. Several generations have dedicated themselves to the production of wines and brandy. It is a global benchmark in winemaking, with its products exported to more than 150 countries.

To produce this white wine under the D.O. Rueda, the harvest is carried out at night, and the winemaking process is completed with the fermentation of the must in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. Celeste Verdejo 2025 holds the V-Label certification (suitable for vegans). Additionally, it is a wine that pairs perfectly with all types of appetizers, seafood, fresh fish, and salads.

Tasting notes

Celeste Verdejo displays a pale golden yellow color, clean and bright.

On the nose, it stands out for its aromatic intensity, expression of the terroir, varietal notes of fennel, green almond, white flowers, anise, pineapple, and lemon.

On the palate, it presents a certain complexity, elegance, silkiness, and firmness. With a firm and elegant acidity, notes of mango and peach stand out. It is a well-rounded wine with a long and persistent finish.

The winery

Pago del Cielo

Pago del Cielo is the winemaking project of the Familia Torres (winemakers from Penedès since 1870) based in two privileged regions for vine cultivation, Ribera del Duero and Rueda. Tradition, commitment to quality, and passion for viticulture come together in this project led by winemaker Juan Ramón García, which began to take shape in 2004 with the purchase of a small winery in Fompedraza, in the Campo de Peñafiel region (Valladolid), and currently has 45 hectares of owned vineyards.

It also includes the winery that Familia Torres has in Villafranca del Duero, in Rueda, since 2014, with its 20 hectares of vineyards. Pago del Cielo produces seven labels: the tinto fino wines Pago del Cielo, the new icon of the winery, Celeste Reserva, Celeste Crianza, Celeste Roble, and 62 Millas al Cielo, under the D.O. Ribera del Duero, the white Celeste Verdejo (D.O. Rueda), and Celeste Rosé (D.O. Cigales).
