General Information

Casa E. di Mirafiore Barolo 2018 is born from plots in Serralunga d’Alba, on slopes at 300–350 meters, with predominantly southwest exposure. The soils of Miocene-Helvetian origin, rich in limestone and gray marl with layers of sand, along with the continental climate of the Langa, favor a slow and complete ripening of the nebbiolo. Organic viticulture and careful fieldwork aim for an authentic expression of the area, providing structure, aromatic purity, and aging potential.

The vinification of this Italian red follows the traditional method: after destemming, fermentation takes place in stainless steel for 12-15 days with a floating cap at 30-31 °C. The wine then undergoes extended maceration with the skins for 30-40 days to extract polyphenols and proceeds to malolactic fermentation. Aging is completed with two years in oak barrels (2,000-14,000 l) and an additional resting period in the bottle before release to the market.

Casa E. di Mirafiore is a historic estate founded in 1878 in the heart of Serralunga d’Alba (Fontanafredda). Today it declares itself an organic property and upholds a philosophy of respect for the Langa landscape and its native varieties, crafting wines that combine tradition, clarity, and precision.

Casa E. di Mirafiore Barolo 2018 enhances red meat dishes (roasts and stews), pasta with truffle, intense risottos, game birds, and aged cheeses.
