Powerful and concentrated, without compromising freshness, Borgogno Barolo Riserva 2017 is a true oenological gem. For its production, the best grapes of the native variety nebbiolo are selected from 3 different vineyards: Liste (formed 11 million years ago), Cannubi (12 million years ago), and Fossati (10 million years ago). The Italian winery Borgogno crafts this magnificent reserve using traditional winemaking methods with native yeasts, long fermentations, and an extended 6-year aging in large Slavonian oak barrels.
Giacomo Borgogno e Figli is an Italian winery located in Piedmont, in the northwest of the transalpine country, right in the center of the village of Barolo. It was founded thanks to Bartolomeo Borgogno in 1761, a winemaker known for storing his wines for more than a decade before selling them. Currently, the estate is owned by the Farinetti family, with Andrea Farinetti leading the winemaking direction.
Borgogno Barolo Riserva 2017 falls under the D.O.C.G. Barolo and is a perfect companion for stews with red meat, grilled meat, blue cheese, and aged cheeses.
