Singular Galician red wine with an Atlantic profile
Red wines are gaining more prominence in Rías Baixas, and they are doing so thanks to high-quality wines like Attis Sousón 2016. Attis Bodega y Viñedos, a benchmark winery of the D.O., masterfully crafts the native and scarcely cultivated sousón to offer us a subtle, elegant red wine with great aromatic intensity. Not to be missed.
Attis Sousón 2016 is part of the intriguing collection of single-varietal red wines, crafted from native Galician grape varieties, produced by Attis Bodega y Viñedos in the heart of the Salnés Valley. The production of this red barely exceeded 800 bottles due to the challenges involved in cultivating sousón, a late-ripening variety highly sensitive to abrupt temperature changes and pests.
To produce Attis Sousón, Attis Bodega y Viñedos selected the best fruits of this variety, grown on trellises at an altitude of 100 meters in the Meaño area. The alcoholic and malolactic fermentations occurred spontaneously in wood, and the wine obtained after these processes underwent 12 months of aging in new French oak barrels. With its high acidity and powerful, floral flavor, Attis Sousón 2016 is the perfect companion for grilled red meats, stews, and game dishes.
