General Information

Inspired by Atis, the lover of the goddess Cybele and charioteer of her lion-drawn carriage, Attis Albariño 2023 is the latest vintage of the wine that leads the way and sets the course for the Fariña family winery, which also bears its name. True to its varietal character, Attis Albariño 2023 is born from a selection of plots, planted with vines at least 50 years old, owned by the Meaño-based firm Attis Bodega y Viñedos in the Salnés Valley, the best production area of Rías Baixas. The Atlantic Ocean orientation of the plants and the granitic and sandy-clay soils in which they are rooted contributed great complexity to the albariño. A quality that was further enhanced in the winery by the aging on lees to which the wine was subjected for 6 months, which also included a brief passage through oak foudres.

True to its varietal character, Attis Albariño is the magnificent result of the combination of freshness and complexity. The former is contributed by the albariño grapes that compose it. Attis Bodega y Viñedos selects the best fruits from a selection of plots with vines at least 50 years old. All these vines are planted on trellises, over granitic and sandy-clay soils, oriented towards the Atlantic Ocean. Meanwhile, the complexity of this albariño was enhanced thanks to the aging on lees to which it was subjected for 6 months, which included a brief passage through oak foudres.

Attis Albariño 2023 is a magnificent representative of the esteemed whites of the D.O. Rías Baixas, which is especially excellent for accompanying all kinds of appetizers, fish, seafood, and creamy cheeses.

Tasting notes

Bright, clean, and intense straw yellow color.

Olfactively complex and intense: ripe white fruit (apricot and peach), white flowers (lily), mineral notes, and saline touches (ocean).

Flavorful and powerful palate with a magnificent acidity perfectly integrated. Elegant, delicious, harmonious, complex, and with great aromatic persistence.

The winery

In the heart of the Salnés Valley, specifically in the municipality of Meaño, lies Attis Bodega y Viñedos, a family-owned winery that produces authentic, artisanal, and Atlantic wines.

All the winery's creations are made from native varieties of the D.O. Rías Baixas, crafted with the utmost care and respect for the environment and the vines, from cultivation to vinification, including the harvest. The production is entirely artisanal, resulting in wines with a distinct Atlantic character and high salinity, a hallmark of this subzone of the Salnés Valley.
