The Pago de Balbaina, one of the most renowned in Jerez, cradle of the best Spanish fortified wines, is the unique origin of Atlántida 2020, a magnificent red wine from the Compañía de Vinos del Atlántico. The fruits of the historical, almost extinct, tintilla variety with which it is made come from a single one-hectare vineyard, planted in albariza soils and worked organically. The 28 months of aging in used French oak barrels to which the wine was subjected in the winery helped to enhance its mineral profile and saline touch.
The red wine Atlántida boasts a striking ruby red color.
Powerful nose of black berries, flowers, spices, and a mineral touch. As the wine opens up, a note of smoke and wood characteristic of its aging is also detected.
Flavorful, elegant, and energetic palate. With silky tannins and a juicy mineral finish.
In 2002, the union of the winemaking heritage of the families of Alberto Orte and Patrick Mata gave birth to the Compañía de Vinos del Atlántico, a winemaking giant present in 18 denominations of origin in Spain and Portugal, including Rioja, Ribera del Duero, Toro, Rueda, Rías Baixas, Priorat, Cádiz, Douro, and Alentejano. With the purpose of crafting unique wines that faithfully express the identity of their place of origin, the company boasts some of the best vineyards in these production areas.
