General Information

Atino Blanco 2023 is a single-varietal wine that showcases all the qualities that Verdejo offers in the Segovian part of the D.O. Rueda. The grapes used in its production come from vineyards aged between 12 and over 30 years, planted on stony soils in the localities of Nieva, Aldeanueva del Codonal, Moraleja de Coca, and Santiuste de San Juan Bautista.

Founded in 2011 by the Herrero Vedel brothers, Herrero Bodega is one of the most interesting young wineries in this subzone of Rueda. To produce Atino Blanco 2023, the night-harvested grapes underwent a pre-fermentation maceration, and after the static settling of the musts, fermentation was carried out at low temperatures. The resulting wine is distinguished by its clean and bright color, its aroma of stone fruits and citrus, and its long, light, and fresh palate.

Tasting notes

Of a pale yellow hue.

The nose is dominated by aromas of pip fruits such as pear and green apple.

Splendidly fresh on the palate.

The winery

Herrero Bodega is a small family-owned winery run by the Herrero Vedel brothers. Based in the town of Nieva, the winery manages 40 hectares of vineyards, mostly of the verdejo variety, spread across this municipality and the towns of Nava de la Asunción, Santiuste de San Juan Bautista, Aldeanueva del Codonal, Moraleja de Coca, Codorniz, and Aldehuela del Codonal, in the Segovian part of the D.O. Rueda.

The selection of the best musts, strict control during their fermentation, and the pursuit of excellence in organoleptic criteria allow Herrero Bodega to offer a range of wines of the highest quality, combining tradition and modernity to meet contemporary consumer tastes. This is how the four wines they produce are created: the verdejos Erre de Herrero, Atino, and Robert Vedel, as well as the sauvignon blanc that pays tribute to the owners' mother, Pour Janine Vedel.
