Art.Terra Biológico Tinto 2021 is part of the most modern range within a classic winery like Casa Relvas. Undoubtedly, one of the best-known wineries in Alentejo. It is made through a blend of the native touriga nacional and the international syrah, complemented by other traditional grapes. It comes from a great vintage, with a summer of mild temperatures that favored very slow ripening.
The vineyards grow on clay and schist soils. Manual harvest, total destemming, and pre-fermentation maceration for 48 hours. Fermentation took place at controlled temperatures (22ºC-28ºC) in open vats (lagares). Then, malolactic fermentation in stainless steel tanks and 6 months of aging on lees. On the nose, it displays aromas of forest fruits, mint leaves, orange peel, and white flowers. On the palate, it is powerful, with pleasant freshness, ripe and smooth tannins.
Alentejo is the largest wine region in Portugal and one of the areas that has most evolved in recent years. It is divided into eight subregions (Portalegre, Borba, Redondo, Évora, Reguengos, Granja-Amareleja, Vidigueira, and Moura) that are entitled to the D.O.C. Alentejo or I.G.P. Alentejano designations. A territory that covers one-third of Portugal and embraces both native and international varieties.
Art.Terra Biológico Tinto 2021 (IGP Vinho Regional Alentejano, Portugal) is ideal to pair with hearty dishes like roast suckling pig or pinto beans with quail.
