Aroa Jauna Crianza 2022 is an organic wine sourced from low-yield vineyards in the Yerri Valley, sheltered by the Urbasa and Andía mountain ranges (Álava). The result of a carefully measured coupage of cabernet sauvignon, merlot, tempranillo, and garnacha varieties, this vegan red wine is crafted using ancestral practices and following the principles of biodynamic viticulture.

Aroa Jauna Crianza 2022 is the result of the work of Aroa Bodegas, a small winery from Zurukoain (Navarra) and part of the Vintae Group, dedicated to producing organic wines following biodynamic agriculture principles. It is made from a blend of cabernet sauvignon, tempranillo, merlot, and garnacha from low-yield vines, and aged for 12 months in barrels followed by an additional 12 months of bottle aging.
Over the last decades, Navarra has transitioned from being almost exclusively known for its rosé wines to enjoying great prestige thanks to its new, modern-style red wines, mostly made from blends of national and international varieties, with foreign grapes well adapted to the Navarrese terroir. A great example is the organic wine Aroa Jauna Crianza 2022, which pairs perfectly with meat dishes or gelatinous dishes like pig's trotters stuffed with mushrooms.
Aroa Jauna is a wine with deep purple and blood tones, very clean, with great intensity and brightness. On the nose, it features aromas of ripe fruits, pear compote, and sweet apples and quince, followed by notes of cocoa, dry leaves, and bark, with some leather in the background. On the palate, it is flavorful, agile, and with well-integrated tannins. It offers perfect harmony between alcohol and acidity. The finish is fresh and meaty.
At Aroa Bodegas, the entire project is focused on sustainable management and the use of natural resources with the least impact on the environment and surroundings. Located in El Valle de Yerri, sheltered by the Urbasa and Andía mountain ranges, it is one of the highest areas in Navarra, standing out for its freshness and the influence that the proximity of the Cantabrian Sea brings to its climate. Aroa wines are organic and are crafted through an artisanal process, with the aim of expressing the essence of the place where they are born, without additives or alterations. To achieve the best results, each plot and variety is harvested separately. It has 25 hectares of its own vineyards and an additional 26 hectares under control.
