General Information

Arcum Reserva 2020 comes from a vintage that was rated Excellent in the D.O. Ribera del Duero. It was created from Tempranillo grapes grown in the vineyards the winery owns in Curiel de Duero (deep loam and calcareous-clay soils) and Bocos (alluvial soils of gravel, sand and clay). The vines lie at an altitude of between 725 and 800 metres and are espalier trained to make the most of the sunlight and ensure optimum ripeness. The bunches were selected in the vineyard and harvested by hand.

Alcoholic fermentation was carried out at 28º C, with three days of pre-fermentative cold maceration. The red was then aged for at least 12 months in medium-toast fine-grained French and American oak barrels. Following a period of further maturation in the bottle, Arcum Reserva is a marvellously faithful reflection of the personality of the firm’s vineyards.

Bodegas y Viñedos Arco de Curiel is a small winery whose philosophy is based on respect for traditional methods and producing wines from its own grapes. It started out in 1998 in Curiel de Duero (Valladolid) and owns 35 hectares of vineyards stretching from there to Bocos, by the river Duero. The winery is named after a nearby arch – Arco de la Magdalena – whose history dates back to the twelfth century.

The Arcum range includes a lightly oaked red (Roble) and a Crianza that reflect the essence of the alluvial soils of the Duero terraces. These wines have won several awards, such as a gold medal at Mundus Vini for Arcum Roble 2021 and a gold for Arcum Crianza 2017 at the Brussels Concours Mondial.

The red Arcum Reserva 2020 has been made exclusively for Vinoselección. It goes beautifully with Mediterranean dishes, soups and stews, and oily fish.
