General Information

El Alto Otero is a location in Labastida, in Rioja Alavesa, which has been home to the Torres family winery in the D.O.Ca. since 2005 and inspires the name of Altos Ibéricos Reserva 2018, the magnificent red wine that the Club brings to you.

Only the best clusters of tempranillo were selected for the creation of this wine, which faithfully represents the essence of the area's terroirs and showcases the full potential of the variety. All this is thanks to a meticulous winemaking process that included a minimum of 18 months of aging in French oak barrels and at least another 18 months of bottle aging under strict temperature and humidity control.

The result of this laborious process is none other than Altos Ibéricos Reserva 2018, a true tribute to Rioja wine that, due to its elegance, aromatic intensity, and silkiness, will be especially suitable to accompany all kinds of red meats, stews, pasta, sheep cheeses, and fine Iberian cured meats.

Tasting notes

Altos Ibéricos Reserva is a dark garnet-colored wine, with a well-covered layer.

On the nose, it features intense aromas of black fruits (blackberries), with notes of dried figs and fine roasted hints.

On the palate, it is flavorful and energetic, with good structure and a pleasant persistence.

The winery

The Torres surname has been linked to winemaking in the Penedès region since the 17th century, although the official founding date of the winery is set in 1870. Generation after generation, this company, based in Vilafranca del Penedès (Barcelona), has remained in family hands, becoming today, quite possibly, the most well-known Spanish winery in the world, with a presence in over 150 countries. A winery with a portfolio of globally renowned brands.
