1583 Albariño de Fefiñanes 2024 comes from selected vineyards in the Salnés sub-region (D.O. Rías Baixas), with granitic and sandy soils that provide minerality and freshness. The Atlantic climate, with abundant rainfall and moderate temperatures, promotes slow ripening that preserves acidity and enhances the characteristic citrus and floral aromas of Albariño.
Manual harvest, fermentation in stainless steel, and aging on fine lees to add volume and creaminess. A portion of the wine is aged in French oak barrels, which adds complexity and subtle notes of vanilla and spices, without losing the varietal freshness.
Bodegas del Palacio de Fefiñanes, founded in 1904 in Cambados, is a pioneering winery in the production of Albariño. Their philosophy combines respect for tradition and a commitment to innovation, creating wines that reflect Galician identity and the uniqueness of the Atlantic terroir.
Pale yellow color with greenish reflections.
Intense nose with notes of citrus, white fruit, and subtle hints of wood.
Fresh and balanced on the palate, with volume, creamy texture, and a long, mineral finish.
Palacio de Fefiñanes is one of the most emblematic historic wineries in Galicia and an absolute benchmark in the production of white wines from the Rías Baixas Denomination of Origin. Located in the town of Cambados (Pontevedra), the winery is housed within a Renaissance manor house dating from the 16th and 17th centuries, declared a Cultural Heritage Site and closely linked to the history and promotion of Albariño wine.
Winegrowing activity at Palacio de Fefiñanes has been documented since the 17th century, although the winery as a commercial project was officially founded in 1904. In 1928, the Albariño de Fefiñanes brand was registered, making it the first Galician winery to market a bottled Albariño wine with its own brand and label, a key milestone in the international recognition of the variety.
The winery is located in the heart of Val do Salnés, one of the most prestigious areas within the DO Rías Baixas. It owns a small vineyard of century-old vines within the palace grounds, complemented by grapes from historic growers in Cambados. The soils are mainly granitic and sandy, with a marked Atlantic influence.
The Atlantic climate, with strong maritime influences, high rainfall and moderate temperatures, favours slow ripening of the Albariño grape, preserving the wines’ natural acidity and aromatic character.
Palacio de Fefiñanes works exclusively with the Albariño variety. Harvesting is done by hand and fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at low temperatures. Depending on the wine, ageing on lees, extended tank ageing or fermentation and ageing in wood are carried out, resulting in wines of great complexity and longevity.
The winery produces around 150,000 bottles annually, distributed across different labels: Albariño de Fefiñanes, 1583 Albariño de Fefiñanes, Albariño de Fefiñanes III Año and Armas de Lanzós. All stand out for their Atlantic elegance, minerality, depth and excellent ageing potential.
