Viña Bujanda has become synonymous with quality in Rioja. The winery was established by Carlos and Pilar Martínez Bujanda in Oyón, and the business is now run by the fourth and fifth generations of the family. They’re conscientious workers with good taste who strive for excellence – as attested by Viña Bujanda Reserva 2018, a Tempranillo made from a combination of grapes from Rioja Alta and Rioja Alavesa and has been aged for 24 months in American (70%) and French (30%) oak barrels.

Viña Bujanda Reserva 2018 comes from Tempranillo vines in Rioja Alta and Rioja Alavesa. The grapes were fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats and macerated for 16 days. The resulting wine was aged for 24 months in American (70%) and French (30%) oak barrels.
The Martínez Bujanda family’s involvement in the winegrowing sector dates back to 1889. Based in one of the best parts of Rioja, Finca Valpiedra has become one of the most thriving and attractive wineries in Rioja. It has a unique approach to Rioja wines – modern and made from grapes selected from the firm’s own vineyards.
In 2009 Carlos and Pilar Martínez Bujanda started up Viña Bujanda, a firm separate from Finca Valpiedra and other group initiatives but underpinned by the same philosophy: carefully monitored grape growing, harvesting by hand in small crates, sorting tables, painstaking vinification and ageing in the best barrels. The fourth and fifth generations of the family are currently at the helm and manage, among other vineyards, the 120 hectares where Viña Bujanda is grown in Rioja Alta and Rioja Alavesa.
Viña Bujanda Reserva 2018 (D.O.Ca. Rioja) goes well with roast shoulder of lamb or stew.
The saga of the Martínez Bujanda family boasts over a century of winemaking tradition. From its beginnings, the family's winemaking philosophy has been based on selecting the best terrains and producing wines from their own vineyards. This same ideology governs the winery Viña Bujanda (2009), which has 120 hectares of vineyards (between 20 and 60 years old) spread across different estates in Rioja Alta and Rioja Alavesa.
