Red Reserva
In Spain, Reservas are red wines that have spent a minimum of one year ageing in oak barrels, and up to three total years of ageing between wood and bottles. The concepts of Reserva and Gran Reserva are historically reserved for a winery's best wines, those that allow for a more prolonged ageing period. The categories of Reserva and Gran Reserva have therefore helped consumers establish a criteria of quality. They are distinguished, complex and elegant red wines that are greatly prized.
