General Information

Thiénot Brutis made of the Pinot Noir (50%), Chardonnay (40%) and Pinot Meunier (10%) vaarieties. Most of the grapes come from Grands Crus and Premiers Crus, the most valuable vineyards. Reserve wines account for 30% of the blend (2013, 2012 and 2010), and it’s been aged for 4 years in underground cellars that provide the right constant temperature and humidity conditions.

Maison Thiénot (1985, Reims) is a relatively young winery compared to other major Champagne firms, but it’s gained international recognition in a short space of time for its modern-style champagnes that are predominantly fresh and fruity. The firm was founded by Alain Thiénot, who had two decades of experience as a Champagne merchant and had acquired extensive knowledge of the region’s vineyards.

<p >Alain Thiénot decided to take the leap to winemaking and progressively acquired some of the best vineyards in the Appellation. Today the firm owns 27 hectares of vineyards, half of them classified as Grand Cru and Premier Cru. His sons have joined the family winery, which has now become a group, with several châteaux in Bordeaux and three brands of Champagne.

Thiénot Brut (A.O.C. Champagne) is ideal with oysters or seafood dishes such as crab au gratin. It’s also ideal with Asian dishes like makis or salmon sashimi.

Creators' opinion

Pale yellow in colour with golden glints. Intense and fresh nose with notes of fresh tree fruit such as apple and quince. The wine displays a delicious balance between fruity notes and hints of toast that lend it a crispness on the palate.
