Barón de Oña Reserva 2018
A unique Reserva with the guarantees of La Rioja Alta S.A.
Torre de Oña, part of the La Rioja Alta S.A. group, is one of the iconic Rioja wineries. It boasts a picturesque setting, sheltered by the Cantabrian mountains in Páganos and surrounded by vineyards in château style. From this incomparable location we bring you Barón de Oña Reserva 2018, a wine you’ll only find at Vinoselección. Because La Rioja Alta S.A. has revived this brand name for us in a unique and exclusive Reserva.
General information
Barón de Oña Reserva 2018 is a red made wholly from Tempranillo grapes grown in Vallecilla and Camino de Laguardia on plots that belong to Torre de Oña’s vineyards located in the foothills of the Cantabrian mountains in Páganos, one of the most privileged areas of Rioja. This terroir, with chiefly lime soils with good drainage, yields highly aromatic and extremely fresh berries. During harvesting the grapes were exhaustively sorted. The resulting wine was matured in American and French oak barrels for 18 months.
Torre de Oña (1986) is one of the first Rioja wines designed in the style of a château, with facilities and vineyards on the same estate. This attractive property is located in Páganos, in Rioja Alavesa, sheltered by the Cantabrian mountains, and the winery, built out of stone, is surrounded by vineyards. Torre de Oña has been part of the La Rioja Alta S.A. group since 1995 and produces wines – more modern in style than the classic Haro type – solely from grapes grown on the estate’s vines.
Barón de Oña Reserva 2018 (D.O.Ca. Rioja) is ideal with beef stew, grilled salmon and mature cheeses.
Opinión de sus Creadores
"Wines made from the 2018 vintage are notable for their finesse, with intense, vivid colours, high aromatic intensity and very good structure in the mouth."
