Notable among the many Ribera del Duero wineries that have emerged in recent years is Viñas del Jaro. Masterminded and founded by Borja Osborne-Osborne, this excellent firm soon carved out a place for itself among the most outstanding and well-established undertakings. Located in Pesquera de Duero, known for its complex and deeply nuanced wines, its success is based on its outstanding vineyard. Jaros Roble 2021 (an Excellent vintage) was grown on vines belonging to the El Quiñón estate, was barrel aged for 4 months and has predominantly fruity flavours.

Señorío de Nava (1986) is one of the pioneering D.O. Ribera del Duero wineries. Its Crianza 2018 has already won gold medals at the Berliner Wine Trophy and the Catavinum World Wine & Spirits Competition (CWWSC). It comes from old Tempranillo vines cultivated at an altitude of more than 840 metres. The grapes were picked by hand following a selection of the best bunches. And the wine was aged for 12 months in French oak barrels and a matured to perfection for a further 12 months in the bottle.

Altos de Ontañón is the Ribera del Duero firm that belongs to the Pérez Cuevas family, owners of the historic Rioja-based Ontañón winery. Its first wines were notable for their excellent value for money. We’re offering you exclusively Dominio de la Abadesa Reserva 2018, designed from a selection of old vines that lie at an altitude of over 900 metres. It’s been aged for 24 months in barrels. Very elegant, with a smooth and balanced palate, ripe tannins, mouth-coating and round with a long finish.
