Soil and Weather
Climate en D.O. Rías Baixas:
Rainfall is infrequent and not very abundant while temperatures remain mild thanks to the fresh air. Summer storms are rare and the risk of hail is low. In this season a significant edaphic drought takes place, favoured by the low rainfall, high temperatures and sandy soils that facilitate infiltration. Once the anticyclone has withdrawn, storms come in one after another in autumn, which is also a very rainy season. They are lowlands, with an altitude generally below 300 m, near the sea and related to the lower stretches of river courses, which determines the climactic characteristics of Atlantic influence - mild temperatures and high and well-distributed precipitation, with a fall in rain in the summer months.
Soil en D.O. Rías Baixas:
The Rías Baixas Denomination of Origin is spread across a group of areas in Galicia which have common physical features that identify and produce their wine’s characteristics.
