The D.O. Cigales extends north of the Duero River depression and on both sides of the Pisuerga River (surface area of 574 km2). The geographical indication includes from the Pago El Berrocal, in Valladolid, the Palencia town of Dueñas, also including Cabezón de Pisuerga, Cigales, Corcos del Valle, Cubillas de Santa Marta, Fuensaldaña, Mucientes, Quintanilla de Trigueros, San Martín de Valvení, Trigueros del Valle and Valoria la Buena.

Climate en D.O. Cigales:
Continental type with Atlantic influences. Large temperature fluctuations between day and night throughout the year. Summers are very dry and winters are very cold (with frosts and fogs) and long. The rainfall is quite irregular.
