Protos Selección Finca El Grajo Viejo 2020 is the result of low-yielding Tempranillo vines more than 70 years old planted in 18 different plots in Ribera del Duero, and careful vinification at the winery, with a double sorting table, maceration with the skins, two barrel fermentations and 18 months in French oak.
Faithful to its founding philosophy (since 1927) of ‘Being the First’ – as its name indicates – and offering its consumers top-quality wines, Bodegas Protos, took more than a decade of research both at the vineyard and in its facilities to design Protos Selección Finca El Grajo Viejo 2020, a top red that’s ideal with roast meats, carpaccio, mature cheeses and foie.

Elegant, complex aromas of ripe black fruit in perfect harmony with notes from exclusive French oak.
Potent, full and flavoursome but with silky, elegant tannins. Lively and expressive thanks to the acidic bite that comes from very poor soils. Long on the palate with a pleasant finish to which the toasty notes of the nose carry through. Its structure and great balance lend it great ageing potential.
