Lleiroso Crianza 2021
A Ribera Crianza for you to discover and enjoy
Lleiroso Crianza 2021 is an authentic, characterful Ribera del Duero wine produced in Valbuena de Duero, one of the most iconic and sought-after municipalities in Valladolid's ‘golden mile’. Made exclusively from Tempranillo grapes from the winery's 30 hectares of old vines, it also comes with the guarantees of an Excellent vintage. It's been matured for 12 months in French oak barrels, a carefully calculated ageing process that perfectly complements the wine's primary aromas. The result is a highly recommended Ribera del Duero that's already won a gold medal at the Mundus Vini 2024 Summer Tasting.

General information
Lleiroso Crianza 2021 is a single-varietal Tempranillo wine made from grapes grown on the winery's 30 hectares of vineyards in Valbuena del Duero (Valladolid), with clay and limestone soils. The vines are 35 years old on average and located at an altitude of 780 metres, with low yields of 3,000 to 5,000 kg/ha. The grapes were harvested by hand in 15 kg crates. Fermentation took place in stainless steel truncated cone-shaped tanks at a temperature of 22-24º C for a period of 12-15 days. The wine was aged for 12 months in French oak barrels, followed by a further 15 months in the bottle.
Bodegas Lleiroso leads the group of wineries that revolutionised the D.O. Ribera del Duero in the late 1900s and early 2000s. Founded in 2001, the winery has always been committed to preserving its own vines, many of which are old, to produce wines that are deeply rooted in the terroir. It boasts exceptional wine-growing assets: 30 hectares of vineyards spread across Valbuena de Duero, Peñafiel and Pesquera de Duero, in what is considered the ‘golden mile’ of the production area, rubbing shoulders with illustrious neighbours such as Vega Sicilia.
Its commitment to restrained viticulture, with yields well below the limits of the local regulatory council; to manual harvesting in small crates; to double sorting of the grapes, both in the vineyard and in the winery; and to gravity-fed winemaking make Bodegas Lleiroso a valuable asset to the D.O. Ribera del Duero.
The red Lleiroso Crianza 2021 goes perfectly with roast suckling lamb or beef meatballs.
