Gran Solorca Reserva 2021 was made exclusively for Vinoselección from 100% Tempranillo grapes. The vineyards it comes from are located between the municipalities of Roa and La Horra in the province of Burgos. Spanning a total of 90 hectares, they have an average age of 40 years and benefit from climate and geological conditions uniquely suited to grape growing. It also comes with the guarantees of one of the best vintages of the twenty-first century in the D.O. Ribera, classified as Excellent by the regulatory board.
After the grapes were processed with careful attention, this red was matured to perfection for a long 36 months in barrels made of different types of oak: 30% French, 50% American and 20% eastern European.
Based in the heart of the D.O. Ribera del Duero, in the municipality of Roa, Viña Solorca is a family-run firm headed by Víctor Balbás. An inheritor of a winegrowing tradition and aware of the enormous potential of his vineyards, in 1998 he decided to produce wine from them in a winery of his own. The firm possesses 90 hectares of vineyards that chiefly grow the region's native grape variety, Tempranillo or Tinto Fino. These vineyards are largely used for wines that are aged for long periods.
Gran Solorca Reserva 2021 (D.O. Ribera del Duero) is ideal with loin of venison in red wine or char-grilled duck breast.
Heir to a winemaking tradition, at the end of the last century, Víctor Balbás founded Viña Solorca in the heart of the D.O. Ribera del Duero. In the vicinity of Roa (Burgos), he established his production facility, equipped with the most advanced winemaking techniques to serve carefully nurtured grapes and a majestic barrel cellar that houses French, American, and Eastern European oak from the finest cooperages in the market.
