The magnificent vineyard of Camino Viejo is home to the tempranillo fruits that give rise to Emilio Moro Vendimia Seleccionada 2021, a red wine that, vintage after vintage, stands out for its exceptional quality and honors the journey of a winery with more than 30 years of experience. These factors, along with the meticulous aging in French oak barrels it underwent, resulted in a splendid red wine from the D.O. Ribera del Duero that never disappoints.
Intense red color, with a deep layer.
On the nose, it is intense, complex, and dominated by notes of ripe fruit well combined with the roasted and toasted aromas of new wood contributed by the aging process.
Structured yet smooth on the palate, it shows a good balance of acidity and a long, persistent finish.
Bodegas Emilio Moro is among the wineries that have most contributed to showcasing the excellence of Ribera del Duero wines beyond our borders. It is the story of a family of winemakers with a tradition spanning several generations, who have managed to position their wines among the most highly regarded worldwide; in fact, it was recently nominated for the Best European Winery award by the influential American magazine ‘Wine Enthusiast,’ which recognized it as the best in Spain. Located in Pesquera de Duero, in a privileged enclave of the Ribera del Duero, it is currently led by Javier Moro (president), heir to the love for wine of his grandfather and father, both named Emilio.
This Valladolid-based winery has always been committed to producing wines deeply connected to their terroir, convinced that it is the soil that gives them personality. It owns nearly 400 hectares of its own vineyards, planted and grafted with a clone of tempranillo recovered from its oldest vines, which undoubtedly provides fruits of extraordinary quality, with great color, character, and nuances. Among the most emblematic plots of the winery are Resalso (planted in 1933, the year Emilio Moro, father of the current owners, was born); Valderramiro, with the oldest vines of the winery and the cradle of the great wine Malleolus de Valderramiro; Sanchomartín and Camino Viejo, from which the red wine Malleolus is born.
In 2016, Bodegas Emilio Moro embarked on a new project, for the first time, outside Ribera del Duero, under the Bierzo designation of origin, where they have three labels. Since 2023, they have owned a winery in the area. Currently, they have over 60 hectares dedicated to the godello grape.
