General information

Cune, a pioneer in Club wines

The first winery to put its signature to a Club wine, CVNE, is back with a new vintage of a special red, Cune Club Reserva 2013.

We are adding to our Club Collection with a Reserva from one of the most famous Rioja wineries: CVNE. Founded in 1879, Compañía Vinícola del Norte de España still stands in its original location in the legendary station district of Haro, at the heart of Rioja Alta: a group of picturesque buildings and underground cellars, mostly dating from the nineteenth century, grouped around a courtyard. From there we bring you Cune Club Reserva 2013, a red that embodies the best of classic Rioja with a new twist, as it is made with full respect for the area’s grape growing traditions but is perfectly adapted to modern tastes. It displays the Reserva back label – a category cornered by the winery’s great reds.

Tasting Notes

Profile sheet Cune Club 2013

Attractive, uniform cherry-red even at the edge, vivid and bright.

Elegant and expressive nose. Balsamic and Mediterranean scrubland notes give way to pipe tobacco and toasted cedar, followed by hints of jammy red fruit (cherries) and touches of spice (vanilla and black pepper).

Balanced, harmonious and highly elegant attack. Pleasantly silky mid-palate with good tactile sensations, fresh and lively. Displays the toasty, jammy and spicy notes detected in the nose in elegant, complex flavours. Long, complex finish marked by hints of spice.
