A new vintage of the wine that the Torres family produce at their firm in Ribera del Duero. Celeste Roble 2023 is sourced from vines that grow at 895 metres above sea level, ‘where there is a magical connection between the vines and the sky’, according to the winery. It seeks the full expression of the Tempranillo variety adapted to the area’s soils and demanding climate conditions. It's been lightly aged for 3 months in oak barrels, and is fresh, with intense fruity flavours, and smooth on the palate.

Celeste Roble 2023 is a single-varietal Tempranillo grown on vines at an altitude of almost 900 metres. It comes from a vintage in which temperatures were above average, with a very hot April (3ºC warmer than usual), heat waves in August, and October and November that were 2ºC above average values. The beginning of the vegetative cycle was very dry and until September, when it began to rain regularly, restoring the year’s balance.
At the winery, the grapes underwent a 15-day maceration and fermentation in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures (20-26°C) for about 1 week. The wine was finally aged in barrels for 3 months.
Pago del Cielo is the Torres Family's winery in Castilla y León, and is focused on the most renowned winegrowing areas for each type of wine: Ribera del Duero for reds, Rueda for whites and Cigales for rosés. The project began to take shape in 2004 with the purchase of a small winery in Fompedraza (Valladolid), and is headed by Juan Ramón García, winemaker and winery manager. Pago del Cielo also includes the winery that Familia Torres has had in Villafranca del Duero, in Rueda, since 2014.
The firm has 45 hectares of vineyards in Ribera del Duero and 20 hectares in Rueda. Its hallmarks are tradition, commitment to quality and passion for viticulture. It produces the Tempranillo wines Celeste Reserva, Celeste Crianza, Celeste Roble and 62 Millas al Cielo (under the D.O. Ribera del Duero); the white Celeste Verdejo (D.O. Rueda); and the new Celeste Rosé (D.O. Cigales).
The red Celeste Roble 2023 (D.O. Ribera del Duero) is ideal with Ibérico pork with peppers or roast suckling lamb.

Pago del Cielo is the winemaking project of the Familia Torres (winemakers from Penedès since 1870) based in two privileged regions for vine cultivation, Ribera del Duero and Rueda. Tradition, commitment to quality, and passion for viticulture come together in this project led by winemaker Juan Ramón García, which began to take shape in 2004 with the purchase of a small winery in Fompedraza, in the Campo de Peñafiel region (Valladolid), and currently has 45 hectares of owned vineyards.
It also includes the winery that Familia Torres has in Villafranca del Duero, in Rueda, since 2014, with its 20 hectares of vineyards. Pago del Cielo produces seven labels: the tinto fino wines Pago del Cielo, the new icon of the winery, Celeste Reserva, Celeste Crianza, Celeste Roble, and 62 Millas al Cielo, under the D.O. Ribera del Duero, the white Celeste Verdejo (D.O. Rueda), and Celeste Rosé (D.O. Cigales).
