Bodegas Ugalde, a century-old firm founded in Haro, is now part of the powerful Príncipe de Viana group and its wines are a combination of tradition and state of the art. We’ve picked Ugalde Reserva 2017 for you, a balanced, tasty and mouth-filling wine with subtle spicy notes and good structure that’s expressive and long-lasting.

Ugalde Reserva 2017 is a typical Rioja blend of Tempranillo (mainly), Graciano and Mazuelo. It underwent alcoholic fermentation for 10 days and maceration with the skins for 8 days. Fermentation at 28ºC. Malolactic fermentation in stainless steel vats. After being aged for 24 months in American and French (5%) oak barrels, it was further matured in the bottle for at least twelve months. Enjoy it now at its best.

Bodegas Ugalde, founded in Haro in 1882, is now part of the powerful Príncipe de Viana group. Ugande has always focused on quality in the planting of its vines, seeking more moderate yields and smaller grapes. The vineyard is furthermore equipped with an irrigation system with pump stations that makes it possible to control the stress to which the plants are subjected, resulting in grapes with greater concentration.

Ugalde Reserva 2017 (D.O.Ca. Rioja) goes well with meats such as fillet steak au poivre and dishes like Rioja-style potatoes (in a stew with chorizo). It’s also delicious with mature cheeses.
