General information

A host of sensations

Originally from France, the Sauvignon Blanc variety achieves a vibrant complexity and expressiveness in the terroir of Rueda. A good example is Palacio de Bornos Sauvignon Blanc 2020: a delicious single-varietal wine whose previous vintage won a silver medal at Mundus Vini. Intense nose with prominent notes of tropical fruit and touches of herbs. Balanced and fresh with a long finish.

Together with Chardonnay, the French Sauvignon Blanc is the most highly regarded white grape in the world. One of its principal domains is the D.O. Rueda, in Castile. Palacio de Bornos Sauvignon Blanc 2020 was grown on vines situated in the heart of the Denominación, in the districts of Rueda, Pollos and La Seca (Valladolid), where the winery owns 308 hectares of vineyards. The vines, which lie at an altitude of 750 metres, were harvested at night to preserve the aromas of the berries.

Palacio de Bornos, belonging to the Bornos Viñedos y Bodegas group, first turned its attention to the D.O. Rueda four decades ago. Its wines, grown on the best vineyards in the region, are exported to all five continents and praised by specialist critics.

Palacio de Bornos Sauvignon Blanc 2020 (D.O. Rueda) goes beautifully with fish such as baked seabream with vegetables or grilled white prawns.
