Assured quality is the watchword of one of the most important groups on the Spanish wine scene, Bodegas Familiares Matarromera. The original winery, Matarromera, is something of an icon in Ribera del Duero. Then came its expansion into other Denominaciones. Bodegas Cyan’s vineyards (D.O. Toro), located in the privileged Valdefinjas area, have sandy soils that differ from the more the clayey type predominant in the region. These soils limit yields and are conducive to the expression of an exclusive Tinta de Toro. We bring you the latest vintage of Cyan de Matarromera, one of the wines most in demand from members, tailor-made for Vinoselección. Cyan de Matarromera 2017 (an Excellent-rated vintage) is a very harmonious red that reflects the terroir and the characteristics and personality of the grape variety – an exclusive Toro that is well-rounded, mature and moreish.

Tasting Notes

Profile sheet Cyan de Matarromera 2017

Displays a gorgeous cherry-red colour with ruby hues, almost opaque.

Elegant, complex nose of ripe black fruit (blackberries and blueberries) together with balsamic notes (liquorice), spices (bay leaf, pepper and juniper) and mineral undertones, followed by hints of dairy, vanilla and tobacco.

The elegance of the nose continues in the palate, which is voluptuous and meaty with firm tannins that afford it a long life. Lingering finish with pleasant notes of bergamot.
