General Information

The white wine Beronia Rueda Verdejo 2023 was designed from grapes harvested in two stages, the first to collect the earliest grapes, which provide all their freshness and a herbaceous note, and the second, later stage, focused on selecting the ripest and most concentrated fruits to ensure volume in the final blend.

With these elements, Bodegas Beronia Rueda, a brand in the Castilian denomination of the Rioja-based house owned by the González Byass Group, produced its unique wine in this D.O. As in previous vintages, the grapes from the two harvests were processed separately and fermented in stainless steel and concrete tanks. The final coupage is a versatile single-varietal from Rueda, perfect for pairing with both more exotic foods, such as oriental cuisine (sushi), and classic dishes, white fish, smoked foods, or creamy cheeses. Tasting notes

Beronia Rueda Verdejo presents a great aromatic intensity. The nose is dominated by citrus notes (grapefruit) and white fruit, accompanied by herbaceous aromas characteristic of the variety such as fennel.

On the palate, it is unctuous, fresh, and elegant. Finish with a smooth bitter touch typical of verdejo.

The winery

Beronia Rueda began its journey in the Castilian D.O. in 2015 with the launch of its only wine, Beronia Rueda Verdejo. Three years later, the brand, part of the powerful González Byass Group, boasts its own winery and 65 hectares of vineyards spread across La Perdiz and El Torreón, two estates with distinct characteristics but located in one of the best areas of the region.

Sustainability and respect for the environment are two of the pillars of the Beronia Rueda project. This is reflected in the very building that houses the winery, designed by architect Gonzalo Tello. Details such as the thickness of the concrete walls or the semi-buried production area help maintain a constant temperature, facilitating the storage and preservation of white wines. Additionally, the building benefits from natural light, thanks to its carefully planned location and large windows, and it features a biomass boiler to generate hot water and heating.

In terms of winemaking, Beronia Rueda is also at the forefront with the use of the latest technology, combining stainless steel tanks and tulip-shaped concrete tanks. The former provides the wine with freshness, while the latter offers warmth, as it allows for greater contact with the lees. The result is a white wine from the D.O. Rueda that is absolutely unique and complex.
