General information

A superb Rioja Reserva

Only the best batches of the standard Reserva have been used to make this Viña Real Cuvée Especial Reserva 2013.

This red has been produced with Tempranillo grapes grown on the Rioja Alavesa and harvested manually. It has been aged for 24 months in oak barrels situated in a special room as the bodega counts with two huge tunnels drilled into the rock destined for the ageing process.

Behind Viña Real is one of the strongest wine groups of the D.O Rioja and of Spain: CVNE. If CVNE stands in the legendary district of Haro Station, in the subzone of Rioja Alta, Viña Real is located in the prestigious area of Rioja Alavesa. Viña Real has the most modern technology for the production of quality wines and modern style.

Viña Real Cuvée Especial Reserva 2013 will be the perfect accompaniment of all kinds of meat such as a beef tenderloin with baby potatoes and rosemary.

Tasting Notes

Profile sheet Viña Real Cuvée Especial 2013

Beautiful cherry red colour.

On the nose it is intense frank and complex, with aromas of red fruit (raspberry) and black (plum and blueberry) mature in perfect harmony with the characteristics aromas of a long aging in oak (vanilla, cloves, licorice, cocoa notes and black pepper); all on a toasted balsamic memories.

The palate is broad and balanced with a silky and rounded tannins. Excellent acidity in the final, where memories of black fruit and cocoa return with toasted notes highlighting the nose. Long and very persistent finnish.
