Few Spanish wineries can boast of having been in business during three different centuries. Bodegas Palacio is one of them. But far from settling for living off past successes, this historic firm based in Laguardia, in the heart of Rioja Alavesa, underwent a major overhaul in the 1980s on the advice of Michel Rolland no less, one of the best oenologists and a living legend in the wine world.

The legendary Glorioso was first produced in 1928. This makes it one of the longest-standing labels in Spain which has the added merit of having remained at the top of the quality pyramid. Today this revamped classic is among the best Reservas of Rioja Alavesa. We are pleased to present you the latest vintage: Glorioso Reserva 2016, an elegant and exquisite red that has been aged for a long period in French oak barrels. Buy this superb Reserva that Vinoselección is offering you with a 20% discount. A must-have in any wine cellar. And remember, as always delivery is free.

Tasting Notes

Profile sheet Glorioso 2016

Cherry-red with garnet at the edge.

Fine nose of good intensity with aromas of ripe red fruit, sweet spices, herbs and fennel together with pleasant sensations of patisserie and baked cakes, over a toasty background.

Excellent balance on the palate, full, tasty and fresh with an enveloping mid-palate. A ripe, moreish wine with fine, sweet tannins that are perfectly integrated into the overall structure. Very long finish rich in aromas.
