General information

The value of Garnacha

Barón de Ley is one of the most reliable wineries in the D.O.Ca. Rioja, a sure bet. We have picked one of their single-variety wines, Barón de Ley Garnacha 2015, made from grapes grown on the more than 300 hectares of vineyards the firm controls. This red comes from the Rioja Baja area, which brings out the splendid Mediterranean sensuality of the Garnacha grape in tasty, silky-smooth and expressive wines. Indeed, Barón de Ley is one of the most prestigious wineries in the subzone and has been making top quality wines for more than three decades such as this red Barón de Ley Garnacha 2015.

Tasting Notes

Profile sheet Barón de Ley Garnacha 2015

Attractive, bright, uniform cherry-red colour of medium intensity.

Intense, complex nose with initial notes of ripe red fruit (strawberries and cranberries) followed by floral notes (violets) and hints of undergrowth over a pleasant background of subtle smoky aromas.

Tasty, rounded and very balanced on the palate. Initial pleasant, fresh mid-palate sensations, with fruity tannins that give it a silky, expressive mouthfeel. Good weight of fruit with an elegant, long, lingering finish marked by floral notes and hints of red fruit.
